The Averett-Byrd Families
Between 1917 and 1930 five brothers from the Averett family and five sisters from the Byrd family were married in the small community of Dale County, Alabama, USA. The photo on the left was taken by the Southern News Service and the story circulated around the county and overseas. From these five marriages came 23 children, 70 grandchildren, and over 150 great-grandchildren.
This site is dedicated to the descendants of those families and promoting the annual reunion in Enterprise, AL.
